With the partnerships of Cerestar and Ulker, PNS Pendik Nisasta Sanayii A.S. (PNS Pendik Starch Industries, Inc.) was formed in 1993 and began its production in August 1996

PNS Pendik Nisasta Sanayi A.S. brought, to Turkey, the technology opportunities of Cerestar, who is Europe's leader in the production of starch and glucose as well as entering the market by combining Ulker's experience who is also one of the industry's leaders.

Cerestar was purchased by Cargill in 2002.
