antioxidants, thanks to the valorization of vegetable by-products recognized
for their nutraceutical properties.
Currenty we are
focused on artichokes, broccoli, asparagus and tomatoes by-products (peels,
leaves etc).
Our ingredients
can be used as raw materials for the nutraceutical and food industry thanks to
their ability to improve the nutritional, nutraceutical and organoleptic
profile of foods.
Our technology
stands out for its ability to fully preserve the phytocomplex of the vegetable,
thanks to non-invasive and non-thermal processes, guaranteeing an output with
the maximum content of bioactive compounds, high quality of macro and
micronutrients and an intense aroma.
On the contrary, the
competitors’ technologies always include an initial thermal drying phase in
order to stabilize the vegetable before grinding.
However, these traditional
methods determine a significant loss of thermolabile bioactive compounds,
reducing the nutritional, nutraceutical and aromatic properties of the product.
Our business
model is based on B2B sale of sustainable high added-value ingredients to food
and nutraceutical companies.
We collect by-products
from local farming and processing companies that discard stems, leaves, bracts
and peels of artichokes, broccoli, asparagus and tomatoes.
The farming
companies collaborating with us are certified and carry out checks and
traceability on the products. We source from companies based within maximum 150km
to minimize both the environmental and economic impact of logistics and to
shorten delivery times.
Our current targets
are food companies producing pasta, gnocchi, baked goods, flours, snacks,
herbal teas and vegan products.
We help them:
- enhance the
nutritional, nutraceutical and organoleptic profile of their final products
- extend the
shelf life and promote a cleaner label, reducing or eliminating additives,
preservatives and flavorings that consumers tend to frown upon
- increase
their shares in market niches developing products with healthy claims
