Hi-Q Named Finalist at NutraIngredients Asia Awards 2023!

Founded in 1998, Hi-Q is a biotech company committed to "Nature Protection and Health Promotion".

Initially focusing on green aquaculture research, our R&D team discovered the vital role of brown seaweed in enhancing fish immune systems. Since 2007, we have been dedicated to researching and developing brown seaweed, resulting in the identification of our brown seaweed extract, OliFuco®, which exhibits unique bi-directional immunomodulation effects with significant benefits in cancer management.

Recognizing the challenges faced in cancer care, especially regarding nutrition resources, we aim to demonstrate the potential of OliFuco® as an adjunctive therapy for cancer patients experiencing cachexia and managing chronic diseases that contribute to cancer risk.

Our cancer-focused research project began in 2008. To date, we have published over 50 scientific papers, with over 30 of these papers directly focusing on its relationship to cancer and the immune system while others related to management of chronic diseases that contribute to cancer risk. These publications provide evidence of the efficacy of Fucoidan in various aspects, including immune modulation, prevention of tumour progression, improvement of chemotherapy and radiotherapy outcomes, improvement of side effects and cancer cachexia.

One significant milestone in our research journey occurred in 2017 when we successfully completed the first double-blind, randomized controlled trial at Kaohsiung Medical University. This landmark trial specifically evaluated the efficacy of OliFuco® as a supplemental therapy in metastatic colorectal cancer patients. The trial conclusively demonstrated the effectiveness of OliFuco® in enhancing the disease control rate among these patients. We are conducting ongoing studies.
